ok so long story short i have aids so i am always in chronic pain, i was in a aids clinic pain management 10 years, they had me on duragesic then percocet then oxycontin. until earlier this year in june i was removed from there because when they did blood test's there was no opiates in my system and there was a little marijuana. i just took my oxycontin the day before like im supposed to and it wasn't in my system. but anyway im starting a new pain management on wednesday.

what should i tell them? should i tell them i got kicked out for marijuana or what because im dieing from pain everyday i need my meds!

also i wanted to know how long it would take for them to get me on my meds?!

I work in a pain mangement clinic so yes you should be honest about the smokeing. You don't need to worry about them not letting you go to them as long as you do not break there contract of no illicit drug use. That being said they will be testing you randomly. Hope you get the help you need and deserve.

Unbelievable though that the pain clinics will give out endless supplies of narcotics, but would kick someone out for smoking pot. There have been endless studies which show that not only does pot assist in chronic pain management, but it increases appetite, promotes a sense of well being and can actually slow the progress of degeneration in such diseases as Alzheimers, MS, and some cancers. Of course, the pharmaceutical companies don't get kickbacks from weed, so they push and push and push to get it out of the running as a viable way to manage pain. Just amazing though... how many oxycontin addicts out there are now begging for methadone (another narcotic) or suboxone (surprise, another narcotic) to manage coming off of the pain meds... how many pot smokers are in such dire straits?
