Hello my name is Nolan and I am an Industrial Design Student and I have a project where we have to research and improve a hand held device. I decided to redesign a cobb elevator after a I briefly meet a neurosurgeon and she said she had a tough time using it. My only problem is I really don’t know quite how it’s used and I am finding it hard to find diagrams on the internet and in the library. Could someone please help me out I would really appreciate it.

Here's a photo of a cobb elevator . Do you need specs? I'd suggest that you try the American Neurological Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Academy of Neurology, or the American Neurology Society for more information.

Thank you for your response I am looking for specs like weight and size but the thing I really need is a good basic discription of how its used. Alot of these web site will say its used in a such in such surgery but Have a limited knowelge, and what I need to know is how its held and used so I can research the ergonomics to make it better.

I'd suggest that you call one of the above mentioned associations. They may have a press or program officer who you can talk to who can arrange an interview with someone who can help. IT seems like one good conversation with the right person will get you what you need.
