Multiple Sclerosis Answer A4148
Numbness, pins, and cold sensations can be due to sensitive neuropathy or, more commonly, to anxiety. To confirm or exclude neuropathy first you need a neurological examination and, if neuropathy is suspected, you will need electroneurography (ENG) to confirm/exclude nerve damage.

Neuropathy can be due to many reasons: diabetes, alcohol abuse, vitamin deficiciency, multiple sclerosis, pinched nerves, infections, poisoning, medicines, kidney failure, malignancies, thyroid disorders, genetic disorders, autoimmune disorders, etc.

If the ENG is negative your symptoms are probably due to stress and anxiety.

You may want to consult a neurologist about this.
