Hi,

On July 3rd I had a little bit to drink and had unprotected sex with a lady friend of mine. She "forgot" to tell me that she was positive for genital Herpes. I was warned by some friends a few days later and then i questioned her about it. She admitted that she has been positive for 4 months. She takes daily Valtrex and was not having an outbreak. She had unprotected sex with her ex-bf many times since her diagnosis and he never contracted it from her.

12 days post exposure i went for testing for all STD's and STI's. I tested positive for chlamydia and am now on medication for it. But I tested negative for Herpes
(Blood Test)
HSV I - .21 (<91)
HSV II - .07 (<91)

The doctor at the clinic said that i shouldn't worry about anything, She had never seen readings that low. I have not had any symptoms at all. No pain, no skin abnormalities, no lymph node pain, no itching, no burning, no bumps, no flu symptoms, no redness. Nothing. It has now been almost 3 weeks and still nothing.

1) What are my chances of contracting HPV?
2) Should i find comfot in my test results?
3) Should i get retested every month?

Can somebody please help and give some answers.

the question you shouldve asked your doctor is what are the changes that the test is low and it showing up later in life. for example i was told this disease can sit in your nervous system and can surface years later.
but i would trust the test results, and be revealed.
next time be careful and use condoms, because you never know who you can trust.
i think it would be pointless in taking the test every month.
