I'M SCARED!
I really need to know if ANYONE else has had this problem...
2 weeks ago I had to go to the hospital for a test for my throid; the technician asked me if there was any chance that I may be pregnant. Not wanting to chance it, I said, "there's always a possibility" so he had me imediately go for a blood test right there at the hospital--it came back negative.
I had to take a low dose radiation pill for that test!!
Now, two weeks later I missed my period by 3/5 days and I take a home pregnancy test and it comes back POSITIVE.
I did that baby due date calculator thing and it said I was 4 weeks along, so that means I took that radiation pill while pregnant--OMG!
I dont' know what to do.
HELP ME!

do you remember what the name of pills you took are? If so look it up on the net for possible sife affects. Or you could let the doctor know.

Since you need to make a prenatal appt soon you could bring that up with your doctor. There isnt much you can do now except be as healthy as possible from hear on out. You had no idea you were pregnant so its not your fault. Try not to beat yourself up over something you didnt have any control over. Most woman do lots of stuff early in pregnancy before we find out and the babies turn out just fine.

I drank and smoked before I found out and so far my baby is perfect!

RELAX. Call your doctor and discuss it with him.

I'm a worry wart I guess.
It's just my husband and I have wanted this 4th baby for a long time and we were so excited to find out just last week we were expecting.
Then all those things run through my mind of all the 'beforehand' stuff...but this was just the cake topper I guess.
Then reading online that sometimes blood tests aren't always accurate because of womens different levels of whatever hormone [can't spell]. Some didn't show women were pregnant until they were nine weeks, and of course I'm thinking the worst [because of taking that radiation pill for that test].
I have 3 beautiful children...and my husband and I are really looking forward for this one to possibly be the brother that my son would really like to have [him being the only boy]. Either way I'd be happy of course but as long as it's healthy.
I will have to find out the name of that pill and discuss it with my gyno. I called my primary phs. and explained everything and to be honest, I don't think she knows much of anything.
I recently discovered [in Oct] that I have hypothyroidism. I've had a few different kinds of tests; and all along the internet has been more helpful in learning my symptoms, more so, than my doctor. It's scary leaving your health in the hands of someone you're not sure you can trust in knowing how to care for you [i DO plan on looking for a new doctor soon].
However, the hypothyroidism explains why I had such difficult pregnancies for my last two kids. Bed rest, early labor [almost delivered way to early].
I'm just hoping that this time around, now that they know about my illness, it can be treated somewhat, and this pregnancy can go a lot better for me.

I want to thank you for your responses.
Nothing like being a paranoid mom [as usual:)]
and the thing about that, is that the paranoia never goes away, no matter how old they get!
