hi guys,

i'm 26, male from UK. I had protected sex with a girl who i met randomly at a bar. After this incident I was a bit worried as I did not know her sexual status.

After suffering from panic and anxiety for about an year I finally went and did an HIV test at a GUM clinic which came back negative.

However something that happened at the clinic has started making me worried again. When the nurse called out my name for the blood test she mispronounced it. As it sounded like my name I got up and went to her and said my name and she just said ok and took me in. 2 weeks after the test I went to get my result and this time a different nurse called my name clearly and i got my result.

What i'm worried is that did i actually go in and give my blood when another persons name was called ? I know it sounds ridiculous but i'm starting to worry about this again and again. Could i have walked in for a another persons blood test and mixed up the whole result. Could there be another person with a name similar to mine and same date of birth in the room when my name was called ?

I remember giving all my personal details (filled out a form) to the receptionist when i walked in to the clinic. The nurse asked for my date of birth again during the blood test and i said it correctly. I can't remember if she asked for any other personal details during the blood test. After the test she gave me a card which had a number and a date, time which i had to come to pick my result.

If anyone knows about the procedure they use to label blood samples in GUM clinics or if you can help me in any possible way, then please
respond to this. It would be a great relief to talk to someone.

Thankyou
