I have a lump in my neck... pea sized... that i found 2 days ago and its weird because its in the center, on the left hand side above the top of my adams apple, not on the sides of my neck... i was thinking it could be my body fighting an infection or cold but is there lymph nodes in this area? as im only at the age of 16 it doesnt seem likely its cancer as im fit and healthy and don't have a family history... but im worried about what it could be... i know i will have to wait a bit longer as it could disappear, but i was wondering if it is still possible that its a lymph node? also if it helps it seems to be able to move about freely,(where'as tumors cant be moved ive heard)

Extremely eHealthy
The Adam's apple is area where your larynx or vocal box is located.
Cancer of these structures is very rare in young people, and usually, occurs in men over age 55, with history of heavy smoking and alcohol abuse.
Lump located above the Adam's apple but to the left of it just under the chin, can be a swollen lymph node (soft, rubbery, and mobile lump)

Have you been ill recently?

Lump In neck
I am 16 years old and today I was sleeping and I dont know why but I just felt that I need to check my neck, and I found a lump on the right side of my neck. when i touch it, it seems to move. It doesn't hurt though. I just noticed it this morning and I've been looking through the internet to find out what it could be. I'm really scared I don't want to have cancer. can someone help me please.

Like MandMs said, it is extremely unlikely it is cancer. Sometimes lymph nodes just swell and you will get a bump there. If it doesn't go away after 3 weeks or so, go to your doctor. It is possible it is just a cyst, which is a benign growth. They are not uncommon.

Don't go on the internet to diagnose yourself or convince yourself that you have something more serious than you do. Your bump is too vague to make an assessment at this point if you aren't a doctor.

Don't worry at this point. It is very very unlikely it is anything.
