Hello there,

To start off I am 18 years old, female, active and normally very healthy. Yesterday morning I woke up with a 'headache', I say headache because the pain was odd; it would be a circle on the top of my head, to the side of my head, to all over... but unlike a normal headache for me. I continued on with my day and constantly forgot to take the Tylenol I kept telling myself to take. I still went for my nightly run and the 'headache' was on and off.

This morning I woke up and the pain was slightly worse. It was on and off this evening, until I was watching TV and it came back. This time with pain behind my ears on top of the 'headache'. Once again I strugged it off, had my shower and at around midnight the pain had spread. On top of my 'headache' and pain behind the ears, my neck is very sore and my upper back. When I try to tuch my chin to my chest, it tightens and hurts. I tried lying down, but kept feeling uncomfortable and unable to sleep. I watched TV for another hour and walked into my bedroom. Now on top of all the symptoms I listed above, my lower back hurts as well. When I pushed my arms back and moved my shoulder blades together, I felt nauseous. I am now lying in bed, with a on-and-off (it feels like) fever and a consistent nauseous feeling. I finally took two Tylenol's because the pain is very uncomfortable.

I am completely baffled by the pain I am experiencing and I need advice! Has anyone had similar symptons? Do you suggest I see a doctor? Anything would help. I figure I'll be able to tell by tomorrow night if it's serious.

FYI: I do surf the net/play on my computer quite a bit.

Thank you in advance! nurse

I personally think that it sounds like reason enough to see a doctor. Muscular pain can be caused by any number of infections (either viral or bacterial), so I suggest that you see a doctor to get it checked out.

neck, back pain, headaches
This is husband related: My husband had the discs herniated in his neck. Please skip all the Drs and go to a Neurologis (not a neurosurgeon) for a diagnosis. I am on this site recommending this to everyone who has had issues like yours, upper back, lower back, etc because for eight years, my husband was pushed from Dr to Dr to Dr, from Drug to Drug to Drug, from Treatment to Treatment to Treatment, and within 1/2 hour the Neurologist Diagnosed him. I now know that Diagnosis first then treatment. Treatment prior to Diagnosis is ruling things out and hoping for the best. I would skip right to the main Dr. Good Luck

Hoppie73.

Are you feeling any better? Have you seen your doctor?

If have not seen your doctor yet, you should get an ASAP appt with your primary care doctor family doctor or whom ever you see for your routine health care.

You need an evaluation of your symptoms by a medical doctor long before you see a neurologist.

You may have some kind of a virus, bacterial infection or it could be a spinal problem or a neurological problem.

All viral and bacterial possibilities need to be ruled out before seeking any kind of specialist care, and if you present yourself at a neurologist's office with possible bacterial and/or viral symptoms, you will be wasting your time with the neurologist.

From many years of working in hospitals and with neurologists, the neurologist will just send you right back to your regular doctor for evaluation first.

Go see your regular doctor first, if you already haven't gone.
