Anyone here use a natural remedie for treating ADD and/or ADHD that they find is successful and works aswell as stimulant prescription meds but without the risk of serious side effects and other side effects???

I'm looking particularly at the products called "focus formula" and/or "focus addult" if so how well did you like it and how helpful was it for you???

A very good product is called Efalex and it is an essential fatty acid supplement that has been studied and shown to help with concentration. In canada we also have a product by Natural Factors called Learning Factors which is supposed to be good but I am not 100% sure what is in it.

bacopa monniera< also known as Brahmi> is a herb that is used for improving cognitive learning and chemical messages between neuron transmission between sypnatic relays. Ginko bilboba as a good antioxidant to increase blood flow in the brain creating better activity. As far as if you have any anxiety 5-htp is a great because its a precursor to serontin that naturally regulates our senses and mood stabilizer and I have found on a double blinded test is just as affective as prozac for treatment of mild or moderate anxiety.

I've heard omega capsules are really good for concentration and boosting brain power. You normally obtain them from fish oils, if you are vegetarian there are vegetarian omega 3, 6 and 9 which are plant derived.
I have dyspraxia and dyscalculia (a mathematical learning disability) and I'm considering giving them a go.

Hello Crunchies4eternity,

I have a friend whose 10 year old son has now reversed his condition by about 85%. with a nutritional product. His Mom and teacher are elated. I can put you in touch with his Mom and you can dicuss it with her.
