I've had sore, infected nasal passages for almost 3months now.
I've been to the GP twice, both times the doctors have said I have a sinus infection and have prescribed me antibiotics. So I have taken 2 courses now, both times the infection cleared up but the returned within days. From researching online, I don't actually think its sinusitis. I am not congested and feel no pressure or facial pain. My symptoms are:

Painful, hard mucus build up in nose
Dry nasal passages
Sore throat (some days)
Swollen glands ( only when it gets really bad, not had this since last course of antibiotics)
Slight cold symptoms - sore eyes, runny nose sometimes, headache sometimes

I am using saline spray and treating my painful nostrils with Vaseline to soften the mucus. It doesn't seem to be working Sad

Can anyone help? I feel sonuncomfortable every day and sick of feeling so under the weather...

Hi munumb, you sound like you have rhinitis-an inflammation of the nose like me. Talk to a specialist, and see if you can get on a nasal spray like Nasal ex. It could be allergy related, too.

Septoplasty and turbunate reduction
I am in the same boat. I had another tube put in my ear yesterday. (2nd one in three years). I declined the septoplasty three years ago but after the ENT showed me what my looked like and that I had a 95% blockage I am going to have the septoplasty and turbunate reduction done. I feel my ENT specialist is correct in suggesting that the procedure be done. My septum is as crocked as a dogs hind leg. I am curious about post-op pain. The doc said it would be painful for a few days. Do they send you home with some pain meds?
