Caleb?

I like Christopher James except for the fact that James is sort of plain as a middle name- like the male version of Marie, Ann, Grace, etc. I'm not sure what your being white and your husband being black has to do with the name.

Braxton as in General Braxton Bragg or Braxton-Hicks contractions? Harley only works if her surname is 'Davidson.' The rest of these are surnames except for Gage (I don't know what that is other than something used in measuring, but that's spelled Gauge), Alex- that's a nickname, and Orion- that's a constellation. Also, you seem to like the letter O- Jonathon, Dillon?

I know how you feel my ex-husband and I had a name picked out until I was 6 months and I changed it three or four times before I had him. We had Axl Layne, Aaron Layne, Braydon Gray picked out. We settled with Layne Alexander, I hope that some of these will help you.

I actually know a GIRL named Harley, and "Davidson" is nowhere in her family tree. Harley Nicole. Her mother had a doll when she was a little girl and was DEAD SET that her first child was going to be named Harley. If she would have had a boy it would have been Harley David.

Now, getting back on topic.. I'm not really sure if you are into plain or uncommon names. I myself like the uncommon names and have decided when I have kids (hopefully soon) and if I have a boy he will be Allan James (AJ for short). I get that from my bf and his father. Both are named Brian. Bf's dad is Brian Alan and bf is Brian James (BJ from birth, lol.. before BJ meant what it does today). I am determined to carry on the 2 letter nickname, so James has to be the middle name with something that goes with it for a first name. I was thinking one day and figured using his dad's middle name as the first name and passing on bf's middle name as the middle name, it honors both bf and his dad, while still allowing me to pass on the 2 letter nickname.

I'm glad. Ella Irene is rather nice, Zoe would be if you hadn't ruined with a Y (I think one should have to apply for a licence to use that letter in their child's name). Jersey isn't a name, but if it were my name I'd write angry letters to whoever made whatver the movie was that gave my parents the idea of using it.

AND, I put a "y" on Zoe because of a few reasons.

1)Its my cousins middle name (without the y)
2)It looks like it's pronounced "Zo" without the y. You don't say "ho-ee" for a garden tool do you? No, you say it like "ho".

And why must you have a license to use a y in a name? Yvonne without the y is just Vonne, and that's not a name as far as I know.

No, I do not pronounce 'hoe' as 'ho-ee.' The difference is that hoe is an English word and Zoe is a Greek name, and Greek and English do not have the same phonetic rules. You don't say 'klo' for Chloe or 'feeb' for Phoebe, do you?

Well, of course, if you wanted to name your child Yvonne, you would apply for your Y licence, and it would be granted because Yvonne is a real name, and 'Vonne' is not.
If you wanted to name your child 'Zoey' instead of Zoe, or 'Elyzabeth' instead of Elizabeth, or anything else like that, it would be denied and you would have to spell the name correctly or find a different one.

Get a grip. I happen to like the names I picked out and nobody is going to tell me I can't use them. Maybe my bf doesn't like them, but he just doesn't like my combinations, not the names by themselves. It doesn't mean I can't still use them.

I realize you are not saying I can't. But you ARE telling me its not a name. I will damn well use whatever name I feel like using, regardless of your opinion on it being a name or not.

Technicall Jade and Jasmine are things. But.... that doesn't stop people from using them as names. I use to LOVE the name Jade when I was 16. But when my friend's step mom got a dog I named her Jade Nicole (her stepmom couldn't decide on a name so we all pitched in and named her). Now after naimg a DOG that, I could never name my child that.

No, Chris from Coldplay should simply not have named his daughter Apple. It's a stupid name. Not that I expect anything else from celebrities.

Am I supposed to think something isn't bad because someone liked it when they were sixteen? It doesn't matter that 'Jade' is a thing, it does matter that it's an insult!
Jasmine has nothing wrong with it, aside from sounding rather downmarket in certain areas. It's a plant, so no different from Violet or Myrtle.

I liked a little bit of all the names, they were cute... I especially liked Gage, but it reminded me of the little boy from pet cemetary, My hubby liked Trevor but I didnt so much... I really adore the name Isaac, but he says its a black name... I think hes just a weirdo. So I think we are going to go with Troy James... and my hubbys name is James, my fathers middle name is James so thats why we are going for James as the middle name

Oh, I met a Troy once, many years ago. I was four or five and I thought it sounded like 'toy' and I hated that person because of it.

I believe 'Isaac' is Hebrew in origin.
