Are you on the second week of the pack (meaning you have taken the pill for seven days) or are you on the second pack (meaning you have taken the pill for thirty days?) Either way, you are safe. With Microgynon, it takes seven days for the pill to be effective unless you start the pill on the first day of your period, in which case, Microgynon is effective immediately.

Like I said in the first post: if you start taking the pill FOR THE FIRST TIME on the first day of your period you are protected immediately and you will be protected for as long as you take the pill as directed. If you start taking the pill FOR THE FIRST TIME on any other day, after seven days you are protected and you will be protected for as long as you take the pill as directed. You don't have to worry about the pill being effective each time you have your period.
