I've recently lost ~15 Kg in weight
through exercise now weighing 80Kg and I'm
1.71m tall. I cycle for 20mins and run for
10mins in the gym, pushing myself quite
hard, 3 times a week and recently I have
been getting what I would describe as a
'stitch' pain under my left ribcage. This
then spreads into my should and round to
the back of my left shoulder blade. This
occurs usually after 5 mins whilst running
and the pain goes once I have finished
exercising. I have experienced this in
previous years but no where near as
regularly or painfully. However, for the
past 2 weeks I permantly have a pain in
the area close to my left armpit but
inside the ribcage and I've started to get
an muscle pain similar to lifting weights
(which I don't do)in my left shoulder and
left neck muscles. ECG and blood tests
fine. Do you have any suggestions as to
what the pain may be?

If heart disorder is excluded (by negative
ECG-test) it could be a muscle pain
(myalgia) or nerve pain (neuralgia). You
could have extended a muscle during the
exercises or pinched a nerve.
