My throat has these weird bumps.

IV been having problems lately with the very back of my throat. I have these red bumps that are about medium sized there not to big but there not small either and there on the sides not in the middle. I first noticed them about a year ago and it seems like they have gotton a little bit bigger.occasionally it will hurt to swallow but not to often and almost all the time my tongue is white and nasty looking and doesn't go away no matter how hard i scrub with my toothbrush. I got my tonsils Removed when I was a kid and I do smoke cigarettes. I also have a really bad stomach if that might have anything to do with it. I will be going to a clinic soon but i would just like some peace of mind. I would post a pic but its not letting me.
