Wow, that's a big baby! Are you and your husband bigger builds or taller? My baby is 4 months too, but she is only 12 lbs. I know that different babies can weigh differently and genetics has a lot to do with that.

When was his last visit and what did he measure then? How are you measuring him? Sometimes our own scales can be a little off, so maybe he isn't really that big. It's really the rate of weight gain, rather than the actual weight that makes a difference in whether you should be concerned or not. I think your measurements put him in over the 95th percentile, so if you were right, you might need to be concerned. But that IS a whole POUND an inch. Are you sure?

i know a lot of people whos babys were the same way giving them rice cereal at 2 months because they are always hungry. your boy is healthy and when he is 8 to 9 months he will slow down the fast growth spurt. my son is 3 months and weighs 16.5 and is 25 1/2 in long his doctor says he is just a healthy boy

yeah it just depends on the baby and the parents. averylee will be 6 months on friday and when she was 4 months she was 13 lbs and 26 1/2 inches long.. my friends little boy when he was 4 months was 25 lbs and 20 inces long and well my other friends little girl who is 6 days younger that averylee is just now 12 lbs and is only 18 inches long and she will be 6 months on the 14th. so dont you worry at all about it unless your dr says something about it being bad...

my son was 30lbs when he was 6 months old but he's pretty much stayed the same weight since then(he's now 27 months)
He was a really big baby from the start though,weighing in at over 10lbs when he was newborn.
