From the following names & nicknames, which would you prefer, like in a top 3 (or 5)? I'm looking for something strong but feminine.

THe names outside the brackets are the 'main thing' that I would use; so in some cases I'd focus on the nickname more, in others the nickname's optional.

Alex (FN Alexandra)
Ariel
Astrid
Chris (FN Christina)
Charlie (FN Charlotte)
Edie
Beth (FN Elizabeth)
Ellis (FN Elizabeth?)
Emma
Emily
Jasmin
Judith
Juliette (NN possibly Jules)
Julianne (NN possibly Jules)
Randy / Randi (Miranda)
Samantha (Sam)
Skye
Wanda
Wendy

Thanks heeps everyone!

I am very happy to see that someone else likes Astrid. I love that name. I like Edie as a nickname for Edith, but it seems kind of "cute" as a full name- not very substantial.

Ariel is actually a male name (Ariel Sharon, for example), so for a girl I prefer Arielle. Ariel on a girl makes me think of the Little Mermaid anyway.

Beautiful Baby Girl Name
All of your choices are pretty. My vote would be for Ariel. It's just a gorgeous name with a beautiful sound to it and wonderful meaning. The most famous woman I know named Ariel is Ariel Durant. She was an award winning author and historian. The lead female in the film Footloose was named Ariel as is the teenage daughter in the tv series Medium. Ariel Winter is a well known child actress.
