That sounds all correct to me , 40 weeks from 13th August takes it to round about 7th nov which is in between the conception dates you said Smile

Take it from the scan it is more accurate , wen they add the two weeks they include ovulation week and period week which isn't necessarily the conception date . You had a scan before 12 weeks of pregnancy which is most accurate time as fetus usually grows at same pace on their charts.

I never heard them add two weeks onto the scan , they take the scan date as your due date and may let you go overdue by two weeks but that's it . Its ok for all questions it's why this is used for Smile when doctors take the period days as first day of pregnancy , that's when they add two weeks but that's not wen your pregnant or concieved , it's just a doctors way and that's why it may have felt like they add two weeks onto scan as they add the days wen Wernt pregnant as they will never know when you ovulate . This is why some people get confused with all dates in pregnancy , but doctors use it as a barrier so they are always right and never know the ovulation of a women to be exact

Yes this as helped a lot thankyou! Smile but a lot of people say they add 2 weeks on so is that just the doctors that do that? So basically if I count back 12 weeks and 4 days from today that will be when I got pregnant is that right? Just everyone gives you different answers so it's all do confusing that's why I thought i would ask people who might have been through same and know why I'm confused! And also a lot of people say if you count back however many weeks you are then it should be the date of your last period but mine isn't ? Sorry to keep going on Smile thankyou again! Smile

I had the same thing , I never heard count back all weeks that you are and should be to your period , it's only the doctor that adds the two weeks from your period because they don't know the true date of ovulation. And because they don't know when you ovulate they let you go two weeks sometimes overdue . Count back how far gone you are and you would have conceived round about that date , not necessarily the exact date but near enough as scan can be off my a couple of days too . Your dates that you said are fine at beginning . Some people go via there period date which is two weeks added but that is not when you got pregnant. The scan is more accurate .

Ha well go with what I say and if you or him still got doubts then a paternity test will be only way but I know that your fine Smile I don't kno where people get the two weeks from either , they are more than likely going from the first day of period which is obvious its not your conception date, all dates in pregnancy are confusing Smile x

Experienced User
that does not add up to me.
my last period was october 25, 2011 and my due date is july 31,2012& my son has been measuring to that due date this whole time. thats why they base your due date off of your last period. they count the period & ovulation as already being pregnant. people assume they figure out your due date then add 2 weeks which is not true.
it seems like your due date should be around july 29 if your last period was october23. ultrasounds can be off a little & babies can measure one way one time and measure a different way another time...
