Hello I'm 27 And My Dr Tells Me That I'm About 8 Weeks Along My Pregnancy, My Progesterone Levels Dropped From 11 To 5 In A Week And My OBGYN Told Me That This Was Cause For Concern And That Having My Levels So Low Can Cause Me To Miscarry. She Prescribed The Progesterone Vaginal Suppositories 25 MG Twice A Day. I'm On Day 3 & I Have Been Experiencing Some Side Affects That Include Being Very Tired & Drowsy & Just Got That "Dragging Ass Kind Of Feeling" lol I Was Just Wondering If Any One Out There Who Has Taken These Suppositories Experienced Any Side Affects & Also I Wanted To Ask Has Any One With Levels So Low As Mine Ever Recover & Go On To Have A Normal Pregnancy. I Currently Have No Pain Or Bleeding Or Any Kind Of Discharge Other Than The White Milky Stuff Coming From The Suppositories & I Have A Follow Up Next Week For Lab Work And A Repeat Ultrasound Cause My Last Ultrasound Showed A Sac But No fetal Pole. UGH! Just So Much Going On With This Pregnancy But I Will Bare It All &
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The symptoms that you are experiencing could be due to pregnancy itself (due to your body reacting to the hormonal changes), or could be due to increased progesterone levels due to supplements. Do not worry, go ahead with your follow up tests and scan. Fetal heart beat takes some time to be visible in early pregnancy, hence repeat scan is needed to confirm that pregnancy is viable. Hormonal levels are known to come up with the external supplements. When using the suppositories prescribed, keep lying down for atleast 30 minutes after inserting them to make sure it is absorbed well and there is less 'leakage'.
