Hi pixistix52 and welcome to ehealth: Stress can cause lateness in periods... I can recall years ago I even thought that change of seasons did it...Either way if it does not happen you may want to check with your physician...Take care...

I find it somewhat ironic that stressing about a late period might make it later...

You yourself can evaluate if you really are under stress. If you have been stressed lately, then that surely is the reason. If not, then something else might be causing it, unless you really have irregular periods. So if you are regular, are delayed, and are not stressed, then you really should see your gynecologist.
