My mum started with an itch four years before she was diagnosed, her Gp tried to say it was an allergy etc which my mum suffered with but we knew different, she was eventually referred to a dermatologist who couldn't help and referred her to a blood specialist, throughout all this she had numerous tests etc.
A year before she died she was referred to the Christy as she was dianosed with t-cell lymphoma, they started treatment then changed their mind and said she didn't have it!
However after trying other medication that worsened her symptoms doctors decided that she did have t-cell lymphoma after all. It is incredibly difficult to diagnose i'm told but they started her on a trial drug but by then she was very ill, she went into hospital with a kidney infection this time a year ago.
She started at the Christy was transferred to another hospital then back again. Then went to our local hospital and the hospice - and six months later we lost her.
Life is horrible, she was / is my best friend, even though I got married 3 years ago my mum and I did everything together, and she was desperate to be a grandma. Why did she have to go, I feel lost all the time. x
