hi inessa,

15 years is a long time. has he ever made promises or attempts to stop?

alcoholism is a complex disease that unfortunately involves the entire family. there are excellent support groups for family members of alcoholics. millions of people have gone through what you are going through and have found help

the first thing i would recommend is to educate yourself about the disease of alcoholism so you can better understand what you are up against.

Often members of the family end up getting sicker than the alcoholic. Alanon helps individulas to take care of themselves. You cannot change him if he is not ready but you can find freedom for yourself through alanon

inessa, what i would do, is make him choose. either u and the kids, or the booze. if he cares about you and the kids, then he will stop drinking.
