That's a difficult topic to discuss. Aside from good hygiene, she should be taking something like Lavada to help keep her fresh "down there." Usually a lack a nutrients can cause an unbalanced environment conducive to odor forming bacteria / strong fishy scent.

How is her diet?

Workingman,
I have a few lifestyle type questions about your girlfriend:

Is she a smoker?
Does she take birth control?
Does she consume enough water?

Being sexually active as well as certain lifestyles can alter the delicate balance of the female anatomy. As a nutritionist I generally recommend taking a daily multivitamin like Lavada or something similar to help maintain her intimate environment.

I would also talk to her outside of the bedroom about your concern. Sometimes these situations bring couples closer together. The good thing is that this is a common problem with women and she can get through this fairly easily.

Especially eHealthy
WorkingMan, She's got a bacterial infection (likely bacterial vaginosis (BV))and her doctor should prescribe antibiotics for it. Bacterial infections are some of the most under-diagnosed and common infections women get. For many women they will only get that smell when a man ejaculates inside them and/or during their period. Because they only smell it when a man ejaculates inside them, they will think it is just your juices together smelling bad or you are the cause of it.

Take care.

susan is totally right
its because of the imbalance of the normal flora iin the vagina due to contraceptive pills, chemical changes ...... but it is safe to go to gyn to chick it out cause its hard to diagnose without a culture its important to make sure... you can tell her that you and the guys were talking about why does some women has fishy smell and some guys told you ..... that its not normal and girls should go to a gyn to chick it out ...

Thanks for the advice. She was tested and she does not have an STD. She does have a poor diet though.

Any other advice?

I just started taking Lavada and it has made a world of difference. Turns out the hormone in my birth control was giving me a fishy smell. Lavada contains ingredients that ancient civilizations used for centuries to help maintain feminine health. It's hard to argue with centuries of knowledge.

Best of luck

I really appreciate everyone's advice. I spoke to her about the problem and has since been to the gynecologist. She didn't have a UTI or an STD, but he did recommend she take the lavada thing you guys were talking about since she doesn't eat that great. Apparently she tried some creams already that didn't really work for her.

She started taking the lavada yesterday so hopefully that will help.

Workingman,

There are many positive reviews and articles online about Lavada. It's a great product for women's everyday health and for feminine wellness. That usually does the trick.

Keep us posted about her progress..

Hi everyone, I really wanted to thank everyone for their input and the advice on taking Lavada. It's exactly what she needed. Since taking it she said she feels much fresher and healthier, and I would have to agree. It's great to have my girlfriend back to normal (maybe even better than before).

Again, Thank you!

This was actually a very helpful and serious thread, until you put in your tuppenceworth "tg3522". It even had a happy ending...
I must confess to getting a chuckle out of your choice of words though... Smile
