My father aged 81, feel sudden weakness. He has not much sugar complaint. He is taking BP tablets. Lately he has problem during food swallowing. Thorough examinations revealed not any other complaints. He has problem of acidity. Otherwise he is quite healthy for his age. He is too much concern for his health. What Usually at around 12noon he feels too much weakness. We advice him to take a spoon of sugar. Some times he takes a juice - then becomes pretty normal.
Why this happens? Is it due to fall of sugar level? If it is so, how to test it as we are in village and bit difficult to undergo blood test. Is it due to fall in Na level? Recently the blood test revealed his Na level is normal. Please advice the reason and remedy. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

If your father is having diabetes and is taking medicines then he has to take these medicines regularly after getting a through examination and his blood sugar and HbA1c levels done. He might need dose adjustment of his medicines as well.

For regular estimation of his blood sugar levels, you can purchase a glucometer and check his blood sugar levels on a regular basis when he feels weak. He may be having hypoglycemia which can turn dangerous.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
