my face is paralyzed. On the right side. Its been this way for a week. I've been getting acupuncture and massage. I can still blink with my right eye but beyond that, nothing.
I don't seem to have any diseases such as herpes or brain tumors.
I'm taking Chinese herbal tea, i take it for 1 week, it has
Astragalus
DangShen a perennial grass with long round roots
JiaoBaiZhu which is a grass root
Wolfiporia
Giant typhonium rhyzome
Silkworm larva with Batrytis
Scorpion
Indian Epimeredi
BaiZhi which is a perennial grass with cone shappend roots
Kudzu
Scutellaria Baicalensis
Ligusticum Wallichii
Liquorice Root

I'm also taking hot baths, applying heat to my face and drinking LOTS of Licorice and Kudzu.
I have a gut feeling this was caused by stress. I'm trying to get rid of it.
I'm eating LOADS of green leafy vegetables as well.
Also sleeping a lot at night.

Is there anything else i should be doing?

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum. I am glad to help you out.

The paralysis can be due to Bell's palsy. Bell’s palsy is paralysis of the facial nerve or VII nerve. It is a weakness or paralysis of the muscles that control expression on one side of your face.

Treatment depends on the severity of the disease like when it is marked by an inability to close the eyes and mouth on the involved side, the treatment options include steroids and antiviral drugs and physiotherapy. You should discuss it with your neurologist and get it evaluated.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations, and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
