Muscular pain an numbness of the hands and fingers

I have numbing fingers, hands and pain in my arms when sleeping. It also happens when I am holding a paper or working on the computer. I have some locking of the left shoulder if raised in a certain position. This has been getting progressively worse for some time now. Do you know what it is and is there a cure??
