Hi Guys
Just joined ,looking for answers.
I am a male aged 46 and hurt my back nearly 5 years ago.
Had MRI done 3 years ago, showed protrusion at L5 S1, but no nerve root trapped.
Seen experts, one who said the MRI was normal and others who said the problem will go away or it wont.
Been to physiotherapy on and off for years.
Had CT and x rays and accupuncur.
I live in constant terrible pain in my lower back, right bottock, right leg and some times in my right groin area.
I experience severe muscle spasms in my back which totally confine me to a couch or the floor for days.
I experience electric shocks in my back which are unprodictable.
My last muscle spasm was NOV 08 but the right side of my back did not fully come out of it and I was left with a painfull and still right side.
I attended physiotheraphy for six months for this back spasm but he could not resolve it.
Some times he would just touch my back and it would start to tence.
what can I do or what tests can I get done to find out what is wrong.
Would a new MRI scan be worth while.
Does an MRI always show up what is wrong with the spine, nerves, facets, muscle etc.
I get depressed a good bit and the pain is draining.
The health professionals either dont know or dont care what is wrong
cheers
john
