I just found this website and sincerely hope someone will respond that has some insight or advice on how to proceed.
I was diagnosed with a pelvic imbalance and was treated by chiro for years..was at maintenance - once every 3 or 4 months and did exercise and massage. About a year go I moved and the issue began with the pelvis. I found a couple of chiro who were too aggressive so I tried to manage with exercise. fianlly got to the point I couldn't walk so I saw massage therapist who referred me to a local chiro. I saw him for 2 months and he made condition worse. I now had a dislocated hip, severe muscle guarding in legs, calves, and bruising. I saw orthopedic who did x-rays, found nothing significant and put me in PT. (did not help)...After two more rounds of different chiro all treating spinal sublaxations but not working on hip issue (7-8 months have passed), I found a chiro who is also trained in ART and Graston. She told me my pelvis was out of alignment and from her assessment it has been that way for a while. she has been treating me for a month and I feel significantly better. However, I seem to continue to have some muscle pulling in the hip area (the skin on this area tends to be susceptible to burning sensations) and I have begun to develop low to mid back muscular pain. Received a massage yesterday triggered at quads, hamstrings, hip flexor and gluts. The massage was great but I developed more intense burning at the base of the glut near the ischial tuberosity, hamstring attachment. This morning a big bruise there with swelling and burning. This is similar to a bruise that developed on the upper glut before. Now I have three marks --- one first chiro put there, the first bout of swelling and bruising on the upper glut, and now the latest one near the IT. Could this be due to breakup of scar tissue? I don't know who to see? (have seen DC, PT, Orthopedic, Physiatrist)...but there is something going on in the right glut area -- have had MRI of hip/pelvic area and it shows nothing....so I guess it is muscular in nature.. I am confused and frustrated.
