Q: Multiple sclerosis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 20th, 2008
I have so many aches and pains and feel like something is not right. I am very fatigued and take 2-3 naps a day, I could sleep all day. I am a restless sleeper at night with many dreams and wake up very tired. I have gone to a neurologist and allergist and had numerous tests. the only thing noted was my ferritin level is 13, so low. I am having an mri next week to rule out MS. What excatly would be symptoms for MS and what else can they find in an MRI?

Multiple Sclerosis Answer A4161
If you had multiple sclerosis demyelinisating plaques on the brain’s MRI-scan should be seen. Headache, sleeping disorders, and pains are not so typical for MS but you can check for it anyway. It is possible that you may have a tension headache due to muscle stiffness on the neck and back which is caused by the spinal osteoarthritis.
