I just had a CT done on my neck with IV
contrast to look for swollen lymph nodes.
Nothing was found BUT, apparently they saw
a small cyst in my chest. Since the CT
wasn't focussed on my chest, my doc wants
me to get another CT w/ contrast. My
appointment is a exactly a week after my
prior app. I also had a CT done on my
sinuses, no contrast, in November.
My question is...is this safe? I am a
little concerned about exposing myself to
MORE radiation and contrast. Obviously, I
still want to get it done to find out what
the cyst is...but now I am worried about
the risk with the CT.
Thanks!

Radiation in any long term form is not
good. But, the technology is so very
important, sometime in a life and death
situation, I personally am glad it is
around. You have a better chance of dieing
from what is wrong with you then you would
with radiation exposure.
Just my opinion.
