Q: mucus and blood in stool

Hi

first off, i am only 19 (turning 20 july 2009), i would really appreciate it if someone could help me.

I have been having very little blood in my stool about 9 months ago. it had come and gone for the first 6 month or so and nothing serious happened. i did go to my family doctor and did some stool sampling and blood work. they said i have this bacterial infection and gave me an antibiotic. after that treatment the blood sort of worsen. then i saw a specialist and he thinks it could be hemoroids and gave me the medicine for it (the one that i have to pop up my rectum) and the blood sort of went away, but IMMEDIATELY after the treatment (2 weeks) the blood came back and now even more noticably a large amount of mucus. now everytime i go poop, there will be quite a bit of blood and mucus (on the paper when i wipe). the toilet bowl isnt all red with blood, but i did notice i had more gas (farts) in my system and sometimes that will be accompanied with small amount of mucus (no blood).

i have no pain, no loss of appetite, no significant loss of weight, i go poop regularly once a day, my stool looks normal and all (just with mucus around it and blood, its not hard or watery etc), and i am just a little bit more tired than usual (since i am guessing i am internally bleeding 24/7)

i am due back @ the specialist in another 3 weeks time, and at the rate things are getting, i am actually very afraid of what will happen. . .

any suggestions? or any insight what might be wrong with me so i can prepare myself for the worst?

thank you very much

I've had mucus too that comes and goes... with a slight orangish/reddish tinge that slowly escapes from the terd after it's been sitting in toilet for a minute or so but the terd is normal color too. Do you have any stomach pain associated with it? Do you pass easily or are you straining at all? What is your situation now because I know it's been a month? I haven't seen the doctor but I'm afraid that I might need an endoscopy or colonoscopy to see what's going on. Sad write me. Let me know how your doing.
