Hello Everyone,

My name is Kristy and I am a 31 year old female. About a year ago I started having symptoms similar to MS. My symptoms come on quickly, last for a few days to a little over a week, then I don't have them again for 4-6 months. My mother has RA, but my dr's have told me I dont have that. (well one doctor said I didnt, the other said I might but she didnt know for sure) My symptoms are as follows:

Stiff, swollen, painful joints (constant, but worse during an outbreak)

Impaired coordination (knocking things over, trouble picking things up, tripping over flat surfaces, etc)

Confused speech (mixing up words, words not coming out right, etc)

Weakness in hands
Occasional trembling in hands
Occasional feeling of "electric shock" in my arm
Confusion

It's been about 4 months since my last onset of symptoms. But about a week ago I started getting these uncontrollable "twitches" in my legs. It only happens when I'm awake, not at night like restless leg syndrome.

I have seen 3 different doctors. My MRI and LP came back as normal, as did my ANA. My first round of labs showed elevated ESR, but subsequent tests were normal. I am not on any medication.

The doctors have told me they dont know what the problem is, but the symptoms are still here and now new ones are developing. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for your help everyone!

What about Lyme?
Have you been tested for Lyme Disease? I have suffered with similar symptoms for 12 years and was finally diagnosed with chronic neurological lyme disease. Have you had an MRI of your brain done? Mine showed lesions consistent with MS and Lyme. They have similar symptoms and Lyme can lead to MS if not taken care of. Good luck.
