On Dec.17,2008 I had an attack in which produced a MRI with nothing on it and a neuro telling me that I was too old to have MS. My GP suggested MS. I am 52 years old. 30 years ago I had a high fever that the Dr. said was the flu. Other family members had the same illness. After that I experienced many vision problems. I also had almost all of the symptoms of ms through the years at different times. My dr always went the lupus route and ms was never mentioned to me.My neuro said I had a stroke but I feel I might have ms. Two weeks ago my daughter had a severe stomach virus. I took the virus also which affected my balance and coordination. My gp ordered another mri and said I had a stroke. He wants me to have cardiac tests performed to find the cause of the stroke. Is it possible that I could have had ms all these years and also had a stroke or could the lesions on my mri be mistaken for a stroke? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have spots on my MRI and I am 56..I began my journey down this road about 17 years ago now after having pneumonia..For years it has been thrown back and forth that I have MS then I don't..The white spots on my MRI they call uncertin as the spots are not exactly like MS..

I went through all the tests and to be honest it never hurts to have a good base line for your medical records..Plus, following thorugh on doctor recommendations shows them you want answers-no matter how crazy it might sound..

I have many autoimmune problems--you didn't mention any autoimmune so unsure if there could be a connection..

I hope that they are able to give you answers..

MS has no age limits...

I would get a 2nd opinion on the stroke diagnosis as well as another opinion on the possibility of MS. Take all your medical records.
