my son's girlfriend has m.s. and has regular treatment for her eyes. she has, i believe, cyst growing on the retinas. the specialist has said that she cannot have her treatment as she is pregnant and said in order for her to have her treatment of steroids and catterract removed she will have to terminate the pregnancy. she has also been told that if she does not have the treament she will lose her sight in that eye. i know nothing of m.s. but i have worked in an early pregnancy uniy and i have never heard of a hospital giving such a no win senario especially as the information i have been given is that it is due to the general anesthetic causing miscarraige. this is incorrect, many of the paitents i worked with had general anasthetic. she has very mild m.s. at present and does not take any medication for it. can certain seroids effect the baby, if so, why was the option of nsaids not offered.
