I had surgery for deviated septum and sinus drainage on March 16 2009. I was placed on Cipro after surgery. I apparently contracted staph MRSA then. I also began my allergy shots after surgery. 10 days later I was given Levaquin. No change in the infection. It was cultured. I was put on clindamycin. 8 days later I developed a rash. I took bactrim no change. I was also put on Zyvox. Finally I was diagnosed with a fungus and MRSA and had a second surgery on MAY 19 2009. I then was prescribed a nebulizer with vancomycin and an anti fungal ( I can't remember the name ) and a steroid. For 21 days I took that 3 times a day. I developed asthma like symptoms and bronchitis. I was given bactrim and advair and albuterol inhaler. Finally I was clear. the asthma symptoms went away. 2 days after completion I developed an ear infection. I took clindamycin and acetic acid otic solution. It cleared up however my sinus is back infected. the doctor did another culture and I am waiting on the results. However, I have now developed an ear infection in the other ear. Could the ear infections be related.
