I just had a MRI of my lower back and am wondering what does it mean when there is white color on 4 discs and the others are black? I have had this back pain for 10 years and it gets worse i now have numbness and achy feeling in my legs more so on my right leg than the left. At times the pain is unbearable and i cant take it.

It usually means the the disc had dried out and no longer functioning as it should be.

You need to discuss the MRI results with your spine specialist as to what would be the best treatment for you and your pain.

Good luck
