Please I need an opinion about my back condition.I am constantly in pain 24/7 especially on the right side of my body; mostly my right leg.And my walk often feels a bit awkward.
The Result of my recent MRI stated:
MRI OF THE LUMBAR SPINE:
TECHNIQUE: Sagittal and trans axial T1 weighted sequence SPIN echo images was obtained.
FINDINGS: There is a transitional lumbosacral junction with lumbarization of S1. Disk space hydration is maintained. There is no listhesis, fracture or intradural space occupying lesions nor rotatory scoliosis. In the trans axial images resolution is somewhat limited but no obvious extra dural canal or foraminal compromises detected.
Transitional lumbosacral junction with lumbarization of S1. No other skeletal intra or extra dural abnormalities are detected.
The only thing they found was a transitional vertebra this mostly occurs at the L5-S1 level like yours its when either the bottom vertebra take on the characteristics of the sacrum below it and sometimes become fused to it or the top section of the sacrum has developed into an vertebra like structure.
Having this problem indicates that you have an increased chance of developing back pain but it does not occur in every instance.
Conditions such as arthritis and disc problems often occur along with a transitional vertebra but in your case no other problems are present. Or the MRI has not picked them up
Some doctors would probably question whether in your case the transitional vertebra is the cause of your problems
