Hi,
My name is Elaine,Im new here, im 32 from Dublin and im married with 2 beautiful young daugters, my eldest will be 4 next month and my baby is 2.

I have some medical issues I need to sort for my sake and for my daughters, I dont feel im forfilling my motherly duties by being sick all the time.

What I do know is that I have 2 slipped discs in my lower spine, IBS, iron and vitamin b12 defiency and loss of cartilage in my knee, (grade 4.)

Anyway for the past 3 years ive had a range of numbness, pins and needles and spasms in my hands, feet, thighs, face and tongue and complete exhaustion and forgetfulness. I have experienced electric shock type sounds and sensation in my head also.

6 doctors have dismissed me and the above was blamed on firstly my pregnancy on my 2 year old, then my back problem and then my iron and B12 defiencies.

Recently I insisted on a brain scan, I was very embarrassed and felt like a hypochondriac, but I just felt there was more to what I was experiencing.

I recently had the scan and I will be making an appointment with a neurologist in the morning, the problem is there is up to a 12 month waiting list to be seen PRIVATElY with a neurologist in Ireland Mad

I was wondering would anyone reading the MRI report understand or know what I have or will be facing?

The following is the report:

There are 2 foci of abnormal signal, one adjacent to the frontal horn of the right lateral ventricle, the other adjacent to the mid body of the right lateral ventricle. These most likely represent foci of demyelination but clinical correlation is advised as to their significance. They are abnormal for this age. No other significant focal abnormality identified. Neurological opinion advised.

I am so worried about the above as I feel a year is such a long time to be feeling this way, especially trying to care for my little lively girls, some days I dont have the energy to dress them, they get fed, just about! giggle

I just want to point out I also take lexapro for depression.

Thank you all for your input in advance,

Elaine.

Hello, eeejit. Welcome to ehealth forum!
I wish I could interpret the MRI findings for you but the information you provided is way too technical for me. You would probably be best served to post your results to a doctor. Since you had a brain MRI, you should probably post in the Brain and Head Injury forum. To get to that forum, click on Health Forums at the top of this page. Then scroll down to Conditions and Diseases to find Brain and Head Injury. Once you click on that, you will find a list of former posts. On the right side of the screen (in yellow, I believe) there will be an area that says Ask a Doctor. It is there that you should post your question so you can get an expert opinion. If you get a message saying that the doctor is not available, try again at a different time.
Good luck with your problem and once again, welcome to ehealth forum. Feel free to private message me if there is anything I can do to help you navigate the site.
