Please help explain in laymans terms the mri results i received. as per letter it reads:
mri of the right hip
mri examiniation of right hip with comparison views of left was performed in muliple planes and multiple sequences were obtained.
there is an approx. 7.0mm in maximal diameter cystic appearing lesion with a sclerotic rim in the right humeral head in a subcortical region anteriorly. this has a benign appearance but is of uncertain etiology. clinical correlation is recommended.????????
similar appearing lesions in the left femoral head aligned deep to the cortex of the weightbearing aspect with one focus more inferiorly by the epiphyseal scar. somewhat curvilinear alignment raises suspicion for a tiny crescent of healed avascular necrosis.?????????????
there is a small ossification anteromedial to the left femoral head at the anterior apsect of the joint consistent with osteophyte.???????????
can you help to explain what all this means.
Thank you
