I was recently in a motorcycle accident on April 13th I was on my way home passing through an intersection when a older lady decide she would make an illegal left I tried to swerve out of the way but i had no chance I hit the front side of her car at approximately 50 kmh I was sent left forearm/elbow first into her windshield smashing it and landing on the road both bones in my forearm where shattered and some of the bone even pierced through my skin my elbow was also severely dislocated my surgeon repaired my forearm with a couple plates and lots of screws and reset my elbow that was surgery 1. 2 days Later I went back into surgery for a clean out of my arm because some of my motorcycle jacket had managed to get embedded in the open wound they successfully cleaned out all fourin materials and they also checked my elbow to make sure they could bend it with out it dislocating when I woke up the surgeon said everything went well and he could Bend the elbow etc. he also said he wanted to keep an eye on my elbow though to make sure it was staying in place. because my arm was to swollen I had to have a 3rd surgery 2 days later to do one last clean out and then closing of my wound ( from my forearm break I have two 8in scars on the top and the bottom of my forearm as well as another 2in scar in the bottom of the forearm where the bone pierced the skin) my last surgery was on April 19 I went back on the 22nd to meet with my surgeon so he could check my wounds and x ray my elbow my surgeon looked over everything and said things are looking good and said to come back the next week to do the X-rays and wound check again. Yesterday(april 29th )I went back the wounds on my forearm are healing up nicely I even had my stitches removed. Issues arose when my surgeon took a look at the X-rays I just had moments earlier the X-ray showed my elbow was dislocated and he said I would have to go back into surgery to repair the ligiments he called in the elbow specialist to come take a look the specialist sent me for a cat scan of my elbow after the specialist had taken a look at the scans he said there is existensive damage. He said in order to repair the Elbow he is going to take a ligiment out of my right wrist and use it in the elbow as well he is also going to us pins that stick out of my arm and are attached to a carriage that as each week goes by after the surgery we adjust the it to allow for gradual bending. My 4th surgery will take place on June 6
So my questions are if there's anyone one out there who has eaither gone through this or is going through this type of surgery I'm wondering if you can give me some advice or just tell me what I should expect in the upcoming months also any pointers you found out when recovering to make things easier
Thanks
