morning vomiting

Do you usually get episodes of vomiting with rapid onset, persisting over a number of hours or days, and separated by symptom-free intervals, or you have everyday vomiting?
Do you get abdominal pain before experiencing vomiting, like first thing in the morning on waking?

Sounds like you've had a pretty rough time of it. I don't have an exact answer for you but here are some things I know. H pylori is the cause of stomach ulcers. I was on a treatment for that for a few months and that took care of the problem. But it seems that your ulcer has come back or has never gone away. Also, I found that my stomach is really sensitive to aspirin and ibuprofen; they both cause acid reflux for me. The real kicker was when I began throwing up suddenly with little or no warning. I had come off sodas and was drinking lots of juice. Turns out that my stomach can't take all the citric acid that's in juice. Most of the juice I was drinking was fruit punch that only contained about 10% real juice but that was still too much for my stomach to handle. If you take a lot of aspirin/ibuprofen or drink lots of juice you may want to eliminate those things and see what happens. I wish you the best of luck.

i, too, have been vomiting only in the mornings for about a year and a half now. I am a young female, 24, healthy and had to stop drinking completely b/c i would be guaranteed to puke all day long the next morning even after 2 beers.. I have seen 4 doctors in the US, half of them thought acid reflux, but the meds made my vomiting worse, and i was sick every morning guaranteed.
Since I can't afford a specialist, I can't get the tests i need. They also thought it may be stress, but why would I wake up throwing up after sleeping for 5-8hours? The only thing that helps me is kava stress relief tea from yogi, i think more b/c of the ginger root in it than the kava, but it has reduced my vomiting by a 1/3rd. I only throw up about 4-8 days a month now in the mornings, and usually only once or twice instead of all day, instead of not being able to even keep down water.
although my mysterious condition remains, a friend of mine had good health insurance and had a similar experience as i did. she is one year older than me, so same age also. She had a camera stuck down her stomach after like 6 hours after she ate a hard-boiled egg, and it turns out she wasn't digesting food. The treatment: Botox shots IN HER STOMACH! this made her loose a lot of weight (she was already really little) and it is very hard to absorb any nutrients... basically it paralyzed her stomach so the food passes through. This works for her though. The Dr. she saw said young women have been having very similar symptoms (that isn't morning sickness from being pregnant or acid reflux) and so it is now becomming more common among young women, why i'm not sure though.
Your case is very serious if it has happened every day for 15 years! maybe you should talk to a specialist about the possibility of botox shots, b/c my friend has stopped puking and now has her life back.
I hope you find your cure. Although I am managing my morning sickness more than you are, i also hope i can find a cure. It is hard to keep a job when you call out at least 2-3 times a month, they don't understand..

I'm only 13(female) and i've been throwing up every morning before school for a few weeks now. I had this problem for a while when i was twelve too. I'm trying to find what is causing this and i'm finding out a lot of people have this problem and get no answers. I'm starting to believe there is no answer.

i just had 2 back bottom teeth yanked because they were completely rotted out. i've been putting hard candy in my mouth to hold back the start of the heaving for years. it seems ton pacify the vomit reflex but i still feel sick all the time and have basicly lost my youth because of it. i had chances to do many things i would have given anything to do, but were were nullified by nausea. i can feel stomache contents flowing up my esophagus when i lay on my side, can not bend forward even slightly in the morning to pick anything up, can never bend forward for very long any other time of day, and also if i hold anything against my chest (like carrying my 20lb dog) i feel a puking emergency coming on. i had an upper endoscopy a few years back and the dr said nothing about hiatus hernia and they sent me in for barium swallow, but when and i couldn't swallow it (i was throwing up) the dr kicked me out of the room after about 30 seconds

My son is 13. He has been vomiting intermittently his whole life. He vomits before every football game, first day of school, camp, church, etc. Lately he has been vomiting every morning. He starts High School next year and they have started to talk about this in school. Any suggestions for me? I don''t want my son to ruin his teeth, get esophogeal cancer, go throught this anymore, etc.

i am a twenty year old male i have been fit all of my life but since i can remember i get sick every morning. My mother would always try to get me to eat something light either in the mornings or late at night and she said that would help but to my disfourtion it did not work. The only thing that works for me is smoking right when i wake up..........i think your son vomits because he is nervous and he plays things up in his head and makes himself sick i use to do the same thing

I Have this problem also and i am 13 yrs of age, I am sick before anything that i do like football games school even going to the hairdressers i have no answer but there is 1 way of making yourself feel better for me anyway, The way i did it is by getting Cranberry and Rasberry Juice it helped me alot.

I noticed that some people posted about kids being sick around the time of a new or special event. In these cases, I believe it may simply be caused by nerves or anticipation of the event. This is the case for a lot of people and is nothing to worry about as long as the bouts of vomiting are limited to times of new or important events. Those who vomit literally every day are in an entirely different category and should seek professional help for solving their problem.

Morning vomiting can also be because of acidity and constipation. It can be also because of gastoreflexe dieases. Take light food.Take pantaprazoles and anta acida with domperiodone.

Greetings. I'm a 47 year old male and for the last 5 or son years, I vomit almost every morning. It is not like a sick vomiting episode, its more like a sudden (up-chuck). Afterwards, I am fine. Some of you seem to be describing very similar situations. I have taken many reflux medication, but no positive result. I have a moderate size hernia and keep my bed elevated (Dr. suggested) but still no real help there. In addition, I have, according to the Dr.s) I have chronic rhinotosis (spelling?) my sinuses create excessive mucus which I take Lodraine (prescription) but have episode of vomiting in the mornings. Did anyone find any addition help since your last post? Like all of you you, I really need the help. Eye, ears, nose and throat people have not been.

I used to arrive at school very late but now I am arriving early almost every day. I wake up at 7:00 AM and leave for school at 7:15 AM in order to decrease the amount of time spent feeling nauseous. The three most important things are the raised bed, the Sea - Bands, and the early dinner. I highly recommend all three of those.

Hi, i am a 13 year old GIRL and i have been having problems ever single day for 2 months iv'e been vomiting every morning when i wake up for school i RUSH to the bathrooms and really FORCE myself to vomit since my stomach is empty in the morning its really hard to get something out but i have to because it makes me feel better and I cant even brush my teeth without having a cough attack and throwing up again. At first i though since the cold was starting and winter was almost here it was something to do with me getting cold at night or not covering myself/stomach very well but then i started to notice that every time i thought of school my boyfriend and all that high school stuff i felt nauseous and wanted to throw up again, could it be from stress or depression? I really want to get back to my old morning routines i hate vomiting and i have been reading through everyone's comments and they say there is no answer to this. And some people are saying it lasts for YEARS and can get worse ? I am really scared and no one from my family knows about this i only told my friend at school so PLEASE if anyone of you has an answer let me know. Even a do's and don'ts list will help me or what to and what not to eat and how to keep the vomit in in the morning and please don't tell me SMOKING or getting high will help me because i am 13 and i really hate the smell of smoke it might get me throwing up again.
