Ok so I'm pretty sure I'm bipolar. My mom's doctor recently said she might be bipolar...and I def. believe that. And I've suffered from recurring bouts of severe depression since I was 11 or 12. Other times I was the life of the party, over-achieving kid. Anyway my new psych mentioned(after our 3rd visit and after me explaing I might have had a mixed episode) that I was cycling pretty fast and gave me a mood stabalizer along with my anti-depressant. That's all she said...Does this technically mean I'm bipolar? I'm not quite sure since she never came right out and said it...

Your doctor must think you are suffering from bipolar disorder when she refers to cycling and mixed states. Mood stabilizers are very effective in treating bipolar disorder. You should talk to your doctor and ask her directly what she thinks your diagnosis is.

I to think your doctor could be on the right track. Do a bit of research to help you better understand the disorder and help you deal with those cycling days. Take your medications as perscribed and see if you feel better. If you indeed are Bipolar, sometimes these meds help that heavy burden on you shoulders.
