10 months old having swallowing problem!

Hi, my 10 month old son can only swallow pureed foods! Anything else he will gag on the throw up. About 3 months ago he was eating things like cherrios, toaste and other foods with no problem. He then got a bad throat infection and was no longer able to handle anything other than pureed foods. Also since around the time of the throat infection he's had alot of built up ear wax that he is getting flushed out at the doctors in a couple days. Could his swallowing problem be due to his throat infection he had or his built up ear wax?? Thank you very much for your time! .... Jen
