Hello,
I am 18 years old and problems with my head started late febuary 2009. I have been to the emergency room about 4 times, had 2 MRI(neck and head), 2 CT, chiropractic relief, and seen 2 neurologists. The neck MRI showed muscle spasms and my head MRI showed sinus disease( which my doctors said is no related to my head pains). I was on many medications for migranes, such topomax, propanolol, amytiptaline, and others, but the side effects were much too much and they were not helping my problem. I have started a journal of all of my sympthoms, which there are many!
There are so many sympthoms that has occured, but recently they have changed dramatically. Whenever i lay down i can feel the back of my neck thud up into the tip top of my head. My heart beated regularly and my head would become very pressurized. At first this pressure was concentrated in the crown area, but later on this pressure was universal. Then my heart would skip a beat and the pressure would hold still, then my heart began to beat faster but not pump as hard, the pressure would subside. When lying on the left portion of my head, I felt the right occipital neck portion hurt sharply. This stopped a few minutes later as I rested on my right side. Lying on my right side I felt like someone was tugging on the left portion of the crown of my head. (like fingers pressing down and down and down repetitively). I believe this is due to the muscle tension. My neck was quite stiff during the night. When I moved slightly a couple times, I heard small clicking/moving in the spinal area.
As of this morning, I experience every few minutes the pressure and (at the spot of most of the pin point pain(migrane) top left of tip of head, it like vibrates slightly and thuds. I also feel like, every once in a while, that there is a (small thud) in the back of my head and then pressure builds up and my head feels werid. During all of this i have taken hydrocodon- which has helped me a little/ taken some thermaflu( i have a very stuffy nose)
I dont know if i should be worried about this thudding and pressure, or the way my heart responds to it(or maybe initiates it). my next appointment with my neurologist is about a month away. I have taken my blood pressure many time and it appears normal( 117/72...135/62 with a heart rate of 96. 86. 95.just to give a few)
I need advice! Please help!
