I was diagnosed with mono almost a week ago, but i have had vertigo for a month now. I am wondering if the vertigo will go away once my mono has cleared up. About two weeks after I first had symptoms of vertigo my ears started to hert. The pain in my ears have gone away, but i am still suffering from motion sickness, and other vertigo symptoms. Will they stay or will the vertigo go away once mono is out of my system?

Mononucleosis Answer A6261

Vertigo usually is not a symptom of mononucleosis.
The vertigo you experience might be related to pain in the ears which might have been ear inflammation. You might want to visit an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for ear exam. If ear infection is found, adequate antibiotic treatment will be recommended. Once the infection is treated, it might take up to several weeks for the vertigo to stop, if no irreversible damage was done to the ear structures.
