Do you know what causes mono? Although children are more at risk than adults, what can you do to avoid getting sick from mono? Review risk factors here....
The symptoms of mono may not manifest for everyone who contracts the Epstein-Barr virus. But when are symptoms serious? And when should you seek medical help?...

Hello,
I have mono and have been sick for several months now. I feel weak and tired all the time, and I feel like if I were to get the flu right now it would be life-threatening (particularly swine flu). Should I get a flu shot? Is there any danger to getting a flu shot with a weakened immune system? Thanks.

Hi. I asked my Doctor this question myself. He recommends the H1N1 shot for me this year BUT not until my physical symptoms of mono go away. This is despite my blood work now being negative for mono. He said even though it is negative for mono, I am still fighting the virus and should not get the H1N1 yet until I start feeling better. Like you both, I am very concerned about getting any other illness (cold, flu, etc.) on top of this.
