My 16 y/o daughter was diagnosed with mono about 6 weeks ago. To give you a brief history, one week before that she was also diagnosed with chronic gastritis so takes Nexium to help with the condition. She has been experiencing pain, numbness and tingling in her legs and sometimes in her right arm. She is very weak to the point she uses a walker just to get to the bathroom. We sometimes have to feed her as she can't use her arms. The last week she has been running a fever in the afternoon, the highest temp has been a little over 101. She also has a nausea feeling in the top part of her chest, (acid reflux?). We have taken her to the doctor but nothing has been done. Is there something else that could be going on with her? Or do we just need to wait this out? She has gone from being very active to laying in her bed. Anything you can advise would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I had mono when i was about 16 as well. I was deathly ill, It was hard to get around I always had a fever and was continuously sweaty, My throat swelled up so big I couldnt even swallow mashed potatos. I know all I wanted to do was sleep! Im not a doctor but to me it sounds like a little more than just mono. I hope your daughter starts feeling better! and you find the answers you are looking for

based on your daughter's symptoms it sounds like she needs to see a doctor immediately and get an mri of her brain. i had mono just this year and my symptoms were serious fatigue and sore throat but DEFINITELY not loss of motor function. I had a friend with symptoms like the ones that you are describing and it turned out she had MS. i would not wait. go to see a neurologist for sure.
