Mono the lymphatic system and THC

Must Read
Is mononucleosis bacterial or viral? Does everyone get mono at some time? How does mono spread? Basic facts and definitions about "the kissing disease". ...
Do you know what causes mono? Although children are more at risk than adults, what can you do to avoid getting sick from mono? Review risk factors here....
The symptoms of mono may not manifest for everyone who contracts the Epstein-Barr virus. But when are symptoms serious? And when should you seek medical help?...
I developed mono symptoms five weeks ago today, and was diagnosed 2 days later. The PA prescribed a three day course of prednisone and told me to schedule a follow up. I began to feel much better in a week with my only symptoms from the start being swollen lymph nodes and fatigue. However, two weeks ago I noticed swollen lymph nodes in my groin, and another became enlarged on the left side of my neck. Today the one on the side of my neck feels sore sometimes throughout the day, and none of the nodes have returned to their original size. Is this normal? Seeing lymph node diagnostic charts online has me stressed about HIV, but the chance that I acquired that is very slim because I use condoms and my sexual behavior is frequent but not considered "risky".

I should also add that I have smoked marijuana occasionally since coming down with mono. Could this put unnecessary stress on my liver or immune system?

mono attacks your lymphatic system. i have it myself. or rather, i had it four months ago and the virus is still kicking my behind. anyway...if you're concerned about HIV just go get tested. i mean, really, if you're positive for it you'll want to know as soon as possible. and best case scenario is that you test negative. as far as the marijuana goes...it's a drug and like anything else is going to be another toxin that your body has to process out. being that you have mono, your lymphatic system (the system that processes toxins out of your body) is already taxed. so putting more toxins into your system is only going to make you feel worse. i would rest and drink a BUNCH of water. and go see your doctor if you're worried. and get an HIV test.

Are your lymph nodes still swollen? If not, how long did it take after you first noticed them for the swelling to go down?
