Q: mono symptoms ?

First of all, my girlfriend had some rapid onset symptons today that I believe could be the flu or mono, among many other things. She became dizzy and nauseous and threw up. Following that she had chills and got a fever of nearly 103. At this point the symptons are pretty generic. Aside from a blood test, what's a good way to figure out if this is mono, the flu, or something else fairly quickly?

Also, we have open mouth kissed recently, and I shared a brief sip from her water bottle today before the onset of symptons. If this were mono, what is the chance that I will have symptons as well? I understand that many people get EBV without experiencing many or any symptons. Roughly what percentage is this?

Thanks for any help.
