I am a 20 year old male recovering from
mono, diagnosed about 3 weeks ago. I have
recovered from all the flu-like symptoms
and have been feeling much better, until a
rash erupted all over my feet, ankles,
hands and arms. It looks like a lot of
hives, and itches like crazy. I have NOT
been taking any antibiotics and do not
take any other medications.
Is this rash from the mono or from
something else? I went to a dermatologist
and they gave me some antihistamines to
try, but they don't seem to be doing much.
I have had the rash for about 3 days now.
It itches so badly I can't get any sleep.
Is this a viral rash that I just have to
wait out? Any knowledge on the subject
would be great. Thanks!

According to the FDA, a pink, measles-like rash
occurs during 1 out of 5 mono cases.
Here are some photos of other patients
experiencing a mono rash .
Does yours look the same?
