Is mononucleosis bacterial or viral? Does everyone get mono at some time? How does mono spread? Basic facts and definitions about "the kissing disease". ...
Do you know what causes mono? Although children are more at risk than adults, what can you do to avoid getting sick from mono? Review risk factors here....
The symptoms of mono may not manifest for everyone who contracts the Epstein-Barr virus. But when are symptoms serious? And when should you seek medical help?...

About two months ago I came down pretty hard with a fever, swollen painful eyes, headache, nausea, body aches, chills, and swollen lymph nodes etc. I felt awful, but the fever went away eventually after about a week and a half.

After the fever (which seems to be odd since this is usually a symptom right in the begining with mono) I got a horrible sore throat with the swollen tonsils and white patches. That went away after about a week also.

I am now at two months and still feel pretty sick sometimes. I just feel generally unwell, very hot and flushed sometimes (even though it doesn't look like I really run fevers... nothing higher than 99) nauseous, stomach problems etc.

I definitely feel better than I did in the begining, but is it normal to still be this sick two months in? I can make it through class and 4 hour shifts at work (Im a 20 year old male student) but I generally just feel pretty crappy. The lymph nodes on my left side also seem to still be swollen or at least bigger than on my right side.

Is it possible I could have lymphoma, leukemia, or some other serious disease or is feeling crappy/sick and having swollen nodes common to mono even after two months?

Walty,
it is very common to still feel bad after 2 months. you worst symptoms are gone which is good, and feeling run down/crappy can last longer. it really depends on the person but you could still feel kinda bad for another month or longer. many people i know say that it took them a few months to get back to feeling like themselves. i myself got mono in december and i am still not back to myself yet. it is very hard with this illness cuz it takes a long time for the infection to leave your body. I still have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck even after 3 months but seems to be getting a little smaller as time goes by. don't panic about lymphoma. just wait a month longer and see how you are then. let me know on your progress.

I also had mono about 2 months ago. I also have basically still the same symptoms you do. I've been checked for everything else like lymphoma. They just said it's the mono. They said the feeling tired and unwell won't go away until probably 6 months....So i dont think you need to worry about anything.
